The Mexican grackle, also known as zanate is a glossy black plumage bird commonly found in Mexico. Legend says that in the creation this bird was voiceless and stole seven songs from the wise sea turtles.  The zanate's vocals represent the seven Passions of Life (Courage, Love, Sadness, Fear, Hatred, Anger, and Love).
